Hell-ouch New York

leave a comment

John Gruber recently tested iPhone 4 and other iOS device upload and download speeds using the FCC’s FCC Test app. Impressed with his numbers I thought I’d give it a try myself and see what kind of speeds I’m getting here in NYC. My results? Significantly different.

Interesting that Gawker is making this an Apple issue, clearly it was AT&T who exposed the information, but nonetheless, not good news for you if you have a 3G iPad and you’re using AT&T’s 3G network.

Stewart Alsop on the Droid

leave a comment

Alsop is not too happy with his Droid, but based upon the comments, it may be that the Droid he has is just defective. So the next question is… will Verizon replace a Droid with as little effort as Apple replaces iPhones? I’d be very curious.
