Fresh Air Remembers Author Maurice Sendak

A deliciously delightful, bittersweet collection of interviews with Maurice Sendak by Fresh Air’s Terry Gross. The interviews, individually are quite good, but taken in sequence they offer a beautiful insight into the mind and heart of a children’s author who wasn’t just writing for children. In its entirety these interviews are funny, sad, and beautiful. If the last thing he says to Terry Gross doesn’t just about break your heart I’ll have to question your humanity.

Great Interview With Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson

leave a comment

Heard a great interview today on Fresh Air with Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson. A wonderful insider’s look at the game from both the hitter’s and pitcher’s perspectives. You can hear it as a podcast tomorrow, or here now. The part I enjoyed most was when they were talking about pitching inside to keep the hitter honest. Brilliant stuff and a wonderful listen.

Gibson and Jackson, along with Lonnie Wheeler have a new book out called: Sixty Feet, Six Inches: A Hall of Fame Pitcher & a Hall of Fame Hitter Talk about How the Game is Played
