This is how it looks here at the moment. Quite lovely and beautiful.

First Snowshoe of the Season
We got about 18 inches of snow last night and were able to get out today for our first snowshoe of the season. Good thing because apparently it’s going to be over 50º on Saturday.
Best part of the whole thing was that we were the first ones on the trail.

Gorgeous piece of property, which you can see as you drive south of the Garrison School, looks like it may eventually be put up for sale.
T. Coraghessan Boyle lived in the Osborne gate house, and apparently taught in a local high school, early in his career.
Says Boyle:
[I was] a full-blown hallucinating dopehead of a terminally skinny hippie, stretched out at considerable length on one of the used and redolent sofas in the gatehouse to the Osborne castle in Garrison, New York, where I lived a Wordsworthian (or Coleridgian or maybe even De Quinceyan) life of long solitary hikes, contemplation, books, and dope.
It can all be yours for a cool $20 mil.

I Wanna Believe
I really do.
I wanna believe that Andrew Cuomo is what and who he says he is.
I wanna believe that he really is out to reform politics in NY.
I wanna believe that he can.
Unfortunately, what I really believe is that my next trip to the polling booth will be just one more time where I find that my pants are still wrapped around my ankles…

Hell-ouch New York
John Gruber recently tested iPhone 4 and other iOS device upload and download speeds using the FCC’s FCC Test app. Impressed with his numbers I thought I’d give it a try myself and see what kind of speeds I’m getting here in NYC. My results? Significantly different.
Ouch!! Can’t wait to try this at home.
The Dung Identity
So all you poop aficionados out there… I need a little hand. Found what I think is bear scat in my backyard and I’m wondering if someone with a clue is willing to weigh in.
Is this bear dung? Any way of telling what kind of bear if it is bear dung?
Thanks a million to any willing to weigh in.
