I don’t use anything like this to manage my finances anymore, but if I did, iBank 5 would be the ticket. Great application.

Great little app created in part by one of the original developers of ACT!. While it’s definitely a first gen product, meaning I saw a few glitches here and there, overall it’s a fantastic app that, as it grows, should become an amazing tool for managing your relationships. I highly recommend it.

QuickBooks for Mac 2014 Review

This, sadly, is still the same-old same-old from Intuit. It’s not a bad product, it just doesn’t add anything of super-duper value to the product.

And nope… no file level compatibility with the Windows product… Although it is a little better at getting your accountant’s changes updated to your live data without having to send the entire data file back and forth between you and your accountant.

Make Every Word Matter.

Be concise and clear.

Fewer words.

Less meandering (without purpose).

Using too many sounds like bull$hit, and usually is.

Hands On With iWork for iCloud Beta

leave a comment

Yesterday Macworld posted my hands-on look at iWork for iCloud. Coincidentally, Apple also opened up their iCloud beta to anyone interested in giving it a go on the very same day.

I found the iCloud beta to be pretty impressive. While it may not satisfy everyone, it’s going to be a boon to iOS users who don’t own a Mac as well as the occasional student who needs to make document or presentation edits at schools where Macs are not the standard computing platform.

Overall, a great set of Web-based apps. I highly recommend that you give them a try.

PDF Editor Pro Review

leave a comment

My review of PDF Editor Pro is now up (as of yesterday, actually) on the Macworld website.

PDF Editor Pro is a wannabe replacement for Preview that has some features unavailable in Apple’s built-in all purpose image editing app, but it lacks the depth, versatility, and simplicity of Preview at a price that’s significantly higher than free.
