Like the curtain finally falling from the Wizard of Oz to find just a small, frail, man pretending to be far more powerful and relevant than he really was. Microsoft’s biggest miss was allowing the world to finally see the truth behind the big lie — they were not needed to get real work done. Or anything done, really.

Brilliant analysis. And, of note… I almost never use anything other than Pages or a straight text editor to write now.

A great piece of wisdom from a great article in the NY Times today about the Boston Red Sox new manager.

Uhm, wow! The Wall Street Journal caught Google with their hands in your iOS cookie jar.

I am 1/8 of an inch from completely shutting down anything I do with Google, and Facebook isn’t that far behind.

I totally understand that these companies put cash in their own pockets by selling what they know about me. But if they’re told that they can’t look at something they need to listen to what I say. If they’d like to withhold services if I don’t agree to allow them to capture my data, that’s fine. Then I can choose to either give up my information or give up the service. But just TAKING that information is simply creepy. (Kudos to @tomfansderson for the link to this story.)

By the way, how you feeling about your Android phone now?
