My review of PDF Studio Pro 7.4 is now up at Macworld.com. This is a good, Java-based PDF editing application, but its UI is a bit odd, largely because it’s written in Java and often I found its editing features to be a bit bolloxed.

Just a little personal note about PDFPen Pro, I was using this app long before I did this review. As far as I’m concerned it is the hands down best PDF editing application available for the Mac or your iPad. Beats all others, and particularly the most well known PDF editing app on the planet, by a long shot.

Highly, highly recommended.

Fresh Air Remembers Author Maurice Sendak

A deliciously delightful, bittersweet collection of interviews with Maurice Sendak by Fresh Air’s Terry Gross. The interviews, individually are quite good, but taken in sequence they offer a beautiful insight into the mind and heart of a children’s author who wasn’t just writing for children. In its entirety these interviews are funny, sad, and beautiful. If the last thing he says to Terry Gross doesn’t just about break your heart I’ll have to question your humanity.

Mei Mei Street Kitchen – A Boston Food Truck

Had lunch today from an amazingly delicious food truck at the outskirts of the Northeastern U campus. Mei Mei Street Kitchen is, hands down, the best food truck food I’ve ever tasted, but it’s also some of the most interesting and delicious food I’ve tasted period.

I had a braised beef scallion pancake sandwich with fried fiddlehead ferns.

Fantastic!

The Mei Mei Street Kitchen website sports a listing of where they will be each day of the week. If you’re in Boston I highly recommend that you give them a try.

Torn ACL for Yankees’ Rivera

A sentiment similar to my own from the town that loves to hate the Yankees.

Rivera is one of the best people in baseball and is nearing the end of a remarkable career, having hinted in spring training that he planned to retire. He deserves to go out throwing that cutter, not on the disabled list.

Here’s hoping we get to see to see him pitch again.

If another team had beaten Rivera in the normal course of competition, even in October, it would not have hurt this way.

Not the way I wanted to see Rivera go. Wish he could have tipped his cap at the end of the season.

Hope he has at least one game left.

I have been away for a couple of days but the work at the house has continued nicely. Yesterday they began building the first wall behind our house. Looks pretty amazing!
