Elbow’s stunningly beautiful, The Seldom Seen Kid, has been a huge favorite of mine since I first heard Peter Gabriel’s cover of Mirrorball on his Scratch My Back disc.

Elbow now have a new disc out called, Build A Rocket Boys! It, like The Seldom Seen Kid, has a warm deliciousness to it that is not to be missed. As my son likes to say, “It’s like rock, but it makes you want to go to sleep.” While that may not sound like a rousing endorsement, it effectively describes Elbow’s music. Comfortable, thoughtful, and well-played with an alt-rock sensibility.
