Now let’s start the countdown…
As I admitted in an earlier missive, I was a wee bit afraid of what our inspection might bring. When a framer leaves a job partially complete, chances are that there you’ll find quite a few important items left undone.
And yes, there were some items left undone. We were missing blocking in important places, posts were not where they were supposed to be, and there were a number of joist hangers missing. In all, there were 17 items on our framing punch list when the inspector left. Nothing really major and all items that will be fixed by the end of the weekend.
That’s some pretty darned good news.
The plumber now has about a week’s worth of work left, the electrician was at the house today scoping out what he needs to do for next week, siding is almost complete and we’ll finish by the end of the weekend if the weatherman is kind and the rain lets up a bit. (As it is they’re siding under a tarp to keep the rain off their heads. I love the commitment there.)
