Outside Magazine Online reports on a woman, Arien O’Connell, who had the best time in the Nike Women’s Marathon in San Francisco but who wasn’t credited with winning the race.

The reason? Her start time was 20 minutes later than the elite runners, which she didn’t consider herself to be.

Funny thing is, her finish time was 11 minutes faster than the “first place” elite runner.

Hail to the Every (Wo)man!
