We got our first big snowstorm of the season on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, so the house is now wrapped in a blanket of icy white. (The storm was a mixture ot freezing rain and snow, so the snow isn’t really pretty and soft, it’s kind of crunchy and hard.) Fortunately that didn’t keep the electrician, plumber, and fireplace guys from working on the house. (Well, OK, the fireplace guys didnt’ actually come in yesterday…)
As you can see from the pictures above, the fireplaces are in, although not yet working, and everything is moving along at a pretty decent pace. The furnace and oil tanks are now in the basement, wires are run just about everywhere upstairs and the electrical work is beginning downstairs. We still have some minor framing to doâ€â€pocket door hardware needs to be hung and the final run of stair rail needs to be run. Overall, lots of good stuff going on. Stuff you can see and stuff you can appreciate.
And rumor has it that we’ll be able to have a fire in the fireplace by the end of the weekend.
Hot!
