850 billion dollars in bailout money, trillions of dollars in debt. The numbers are so large that, unless you’re a financial whiz, it’s impossible to get any real perspective on the magnitude of the problem.

Mint.com, the personal finance web site that helps you track your financial data, has “human-sized” the problem to give you insight into just how big the National debt is. How? They’ve micro-sized the numbers to the size of household debt by asking the question, “If the national debt was your personal credit card debt, how much would it be?”

The answer? Well let’s just say that reading the answer made my palms sweat…
