The Series was saved tonight from a real cheesy ending. 2 out in the top of the sixth with Upton on second when Perez gets a hit to bring him home.
Tie game.
Pouring rain. So bad, in fact, that the game should have been delayed sooner.
If the umps don’t let the game continue and there’s no hit by the Rays in the sixth, then technically it’s a complete game. If the delay continues… it’s game over and the Phils win on a technicality.
How cheesy would that have been?
