Michael Crichton dies of cancer.
I still remember reading The Andromeda Strain and The Terminal Man, my first two Crichton reads, as a wee lad at my grandparent’s cabin in Twain Harte, CA. A challenging book for me then. I still find his books a good mindless read for me now.
He was also among a group of people who see man-made global warming as more man-made-mass-hysteria than actual fact. (At the time of this writing Crichton’s site was pretty well bogged down. You may need to wait to get the link.) I happen to be an adherent to the faith as are people who are far more intelligent than me.
