Can Sheetrock be far behind?

Things have been rolling along rather nicely. Friday the insulation began. A crew of a few started putting batts in the ceiling of the second while someone went around plugging holes with fire caulking. (Now a New York State building code requirement.) By the end of Friday the all the upstairs ceilings and most of the walls were complete, including the room over the garage.

Saturday continued the process and by 4:00 p.m. the first floor was nearly complete. All that remains are portions of the walls, the garage, and the guest room. (Of course, they’ll still need to do the basement, but that’s not necessary for the sheetrocking that’s to begin on Tuesday a.m.

As for me. I spent the better part of the day insulating the chimney chase, which requires chicken wire to hold the insualtion batts in. Not a fun job. In fact, it would have been a much easier job had the fireplace guys mentioned that it needed to be done PRIOR to their installing the fireplaces. Not alot of fun to do right now, especially because the chase is pretty crowded with pipes and such.

Tomorrow at 2:00 it’s insulation inspection time. Then, Tuesday, we get rockin’.

Yeah!
