And now we have closure…

Monday February 14th at 2:00 pm EST Dave Buckley, the City of Beacon’s building inspector, came and made the rounds at our house on the hill. He scratched a few more things off of his one page punch-list and gave us a smiling thumbs-up. We were good to go.

I continued on at the house until 4:00 am this morning, making sure that the house was reasonably clean, securing chicken wire in all the chimney chases, and adding missing blocking and a ventilation fan that wasn’t installed in a downstairs bathroom. I left bleary-eyed and exhausted, but ultimately satisfied.

Sheetrock began this morning. When I got to the house at around 8:30 they had nearly completed the Master Bedroom, and Master Bedroom closets. The rockers had been there for all of thirty minutes.

On a cozy note, I had all the fireplaces running yesterday afternoon and last night. Between the three fireplaces and my hustling around working, the house was so hot I could only stand to wear a long-sleeved t-shirt. The outside temperature at the time was hovering just above freezing. It was absolutely, delightfully comfortable in the house.

Gotta love that R-38 insulation!
