We’ll take that, yup…
Tileman/Carpenter/All-around-guy Werner Baumann and I were walking around the house earlier today, chewing the fat and admiring his handiwork. While we were wandering around he popped off with what I considered to be a pretty high compliment, especially coming from him. Werner is a Swiss carpenter and has a cute Swiss accent that adds a certain panache to what he has to say. (By the way, his brother Hans is a Swiss-trained chef. Hans and his wife Kim own the Canterbury Brook Inn in Cornwall, NY. A definite must visit if you’re in the area.)
Be sure to keep that Swiss accent going in your head as you read along.
"You know Jeff," said Werner. "I been in a lot of really big expensive houses. Giant things down in New Jersey worth millions of dollars. They’re huge, but they don’t feel cozy. Not even when you get furniture in them. This is a nice house and it’s really cozy even without any furniture. I like it here already even with nothing in it."
High praise my friends. That’s what I call very high praise. Especially considering that we won’t be able to afford any furniture until the kids are well out of college…
