Salon’s Choire Sicha re-imagines the Blagojevich debacle as a David Mamet play (beware! Blagojevich-like language at the jump), but I’m inclined to re-imagine the Blagojevich debacle as something more akin to David Milch’s Deadwood. Politics, corruption, and potty-mouthed, power-mongering players. Definitely interesting theater, but not what you want in a public servant.

Further, and I’d be curious about what anyone else thinks about this, while Blagojevich got caught, probably because he has other, uglier skeletons in his closet, it certainly makes you wonder whether this isn’t the political status-quo.
Actually, I’m pretty sure it is the status-quo.
