Not my house but right near by…
Fishkill "Creek," that’s what this is. anywhere else in the known universe this would likely be called a river. Must have something to do with its length and/or genesis. But, no matter what you call it, it’s downright powerful. Makes me feel the same as I do when I’m standing at the base of Vernal Falls in Yosemite. No, it’s not as beautiful, but it’s downright powerful.
You can attribute the power here to a combination of snow melt-off and a two day run of rain that was at times quite heavy. As long as it’s not running through your basement, it makes for one beautiful view.
By the way (not so) Dry Brook, which runs past our house, feeds into this creek. Our brook is running full as well.
