Dance classes to start shortly…
While it has no finish on it yet, the hardwood has been completely laid down. Looks great and it adds a certain solid quality to the house. Really just a wonderful feeling. While the picture above may satisfy the majority of you, if you prefer BIG, you’ll find a larger panorama HERE.
We’re going to be starting the trim work this weekend and the interior doors will arrive either late next week or early the following. Once the doors are in we’ll be heading for home.
On the door note, a bit of sadness here. We had originally intended to install Simpson’s two-panel fir doors. But our lumber bill, due to insane, war-related price increases, just blew us out of the water. So presently we’re settling for six-panel solid-core masonite doors (texture free of course!) which we’ll be able to replace with the doors we originally wanted once we get back on our financial feet again. (Yeah, I know, that will be about twenty years after the kids are out of college…) Of course this wasn’t our first choice, but it is what’s presently mandated by our lumber-price-increase-induced budgetary constraints.
Finally, the bedroom feature strip is complete now too and it just looks beautiful!
