And toilet time…
Another nearly sleepless night which makes me feel like some college kid squeezing every minute out of a cram session. Last night I was able to hang and trim out the pocket door that leads from the main hall to the pantry. This was an area that, earlier, I had to completely re-frame because the pocket door opening had been centered in the room, not offset to one side as it was supposed to be. (This was true of every pocket door in the house. A pure pleasure to redo, not!)

I was also pleasantly surprised to see that the plumber had come by and installed the toilets. Water isn’t turned on yet, so we can’t test ’em, but as soon as they’re working we’ll rid ourselves of the port-a-potty that’s been sitting outside for almost a year now. (You do the math, $108 x 12 = too much money for peeing. Thanks again Matco…)

Gorgeous sunset last night too, probably because there’s tons of pollen in the air. Power lines in this picture makes you wish there were laws about burying electric service don’t they? It would probably eliminate power issues due to downed lines as well. Of course, that sounds like a bazillion dollar project.

Leaves are not quite on the trees yet, but it’s pretty clear that we’ll be surrounded by green within a week or so. I sat on this porch on Sunday, drank coffee, and read the NY Times.

Here’s to more of that and less of 2:00 am trim sessions…
