Final few…
With the exception of a small break for a midnight viewing of the latest Star Wars episode, it’s been work to the walls at the house. Today we’ll be getting a preliminary visit from the building inspector who will give us a punchlist for the C.O. we hope to get one week from today. Lot’s-o-craziness to be sure, but it’s cool to see the end in sight.
In a move of utter brilliance I’ve hired a friend and excellent trim carpenter to finish trimming out the windows. It was a choice between one window a weekend for me over the next twelve months or all the windows complete by the end of next week. A rather easy choice really, and even after just one day, the windows look brilliant! all efforts are presently being focused on the upstairs bedrooms first and then he’ll move to the first floor.
Electrical work has been completed and we’re awaiting the arrival of the electrical so we can get our final sign-off. Meanwhile, I’ve been working on porches. I just finished the cedar deck off of our bedroom and started working on counter-sinking and screwing in the decking boards on our front porch.
Insanely busy and insanely cool.
Oh yeah… the countertops are in too and will be installed on Monday, along with the tile on the floor in our bathroom. It’s a mad rush baby, but boy it feels good!
