So it’s 7:11 PM EST and we’ve been on the road now for a little over 10 hours. Total miles travelled? 442, which puts us just outside of Cleveland. Average speed? You can do the math. (If you can’t, that’s under 45 MPH.)
Traffic and weather have been the real culprits. At least twice we’ve spent too much time moving at a literal snail’s pace, first just outside of Scranton because of construction and then in western PA because of an accident. Each delay burned up an hour.
Right now Kathy’s at the wheel and we’re traveling at a steady 65. Plan is to push past Chicago by sometime late tonight and then hole up in a rest area somewhere.
