Mile 587…

Following is Kristin’s commentary:

587-1

… On the Battersby road trip extrordinare. Presented for your entertainment by the eldest daughter, Kristin Sierra, is a quick update on the cross country road trip that will undoubtedly drive it’s patrons up the walls (or in this case, up the car doors).

Before we left the hometown, we kids were thrust the duty of doing the most difficult thing we may ever have to do on this entire journey: choosing a number between 103 and 257. After we each selected our numbers, we were told that the sum of these, which added to 587, would be a milestone in itself. Every time we traveled 587 miles, we would take a picture of where we happened to be at that particular point in time. Our first checkpoint landed on Swanton, Ohio, a town that most, including myself, have never heard of. The picture you see is a truck on the highway, if you hadn’t guessed. The interesting thing about the photo is the fact that it was taken during a fireworks show, which may or may not have caused the reddish lighting. To comment on the trip so far, I’d say that it is still bearable, which is a good thing because it is only the end of the first day, but there is no doubt in my mind that sometime in the near future, we will truly discover just how irritable we can become. Thank you for clicking on this link, I look forward to discussing the growing pandemonium with you at a later date.

More to come…
