When Morning Comes

The Scaffold Disappears…

Actually, it’s more like when the moon rises the scaffold disappears.

Stone guys worked until about 8:00 pm last night cleaning up the roof and stone and taking down the scaffolding. As of right now this job is officially complete. And everything looks fantastic.

The cleanup these guys did was amazing. You can practically eat off of the little porch that looks over the stream. They also scrubbed down the stone to wash off any extraneous mortar.

The stone looks great when you’re right next to it, but it looks amazing from a distance. What the stone does for the house is pretty interesting; it’s added age. While the design of the house is definitely a modern Craftsman style, the stone around the foundation and up the chimney suddenly makes it look as if the house has been sitting here for fifty years. Truly a beautiful thing.

There are now more leaves on the ground than there are on the trees, which actually looks quite beautiful. We’re also still enjoying a rather balmy November at the moment. It’s been in the 60′s for the entire week with the evenings never really getting below the high 40′s. That’s set to end on Friday but it sure makes my oil bill happy today.
