Actually, it was an entire family…

Some friends of ours caught wind of the fact that tomorrow is demolition day, so this evening we got a little call that went something like this:

“Hey, C_____ read the web site today and said that the house is supposed to come down tomorrow. Is that true?”

“Well, I’m not sure yet. Haven’t been up to the house to see if the track-hoe is there or not.”

“Can we come over and do a little demo?”

“Yeah, sure. I guess. It’s gonna be dark though.”

“We’ll come over quick! C_____ will load the kids in the car and we’ll meet you there in 20 minutes.”

Twenty minutes later we all piled out of a variety of cars, the aforementioned unnamed caller with sledge hammer in hand, and proceeded to beat the living daylights out of the inside of the house. We had to use headlights to keep from accidentally beating each other to death with instruments of destruction and there was more than one occasion when we had to warn little ones not to swing their hammers when someone’s head was between the wall and what they were swinging.

When all was said and done we had a couple of new windows, several ecstatic children, and a whole lot of fun.

Tomorrow?

The big machine…
