One step at a time…
Came home at lunch today to find René delivering block for the stairs and prepping the footings. Unfortunately, after making a couple of calls today, we’re discovering that 7′ x 18″ bluestone treads may be hard to come by this time of year. More on this tomorrow, but the short story is that most of the quarries are shutting down production for the winter and the masonry supply stores don’t have much in the way of masonry supplies. (That’s an oxymoron right?) Worse yet, they don’t expect to have any until sometime in March.
We do have one supplier that may be able to get us something, so we’re still holding out hope. Otherwise it’s block but no stone until the Spring.
