And Sadly, the end of an era…
Today marks the on-shelf date for the last issue of the Beacon Dispatch, at least into the foreseeable future. A disappointing event to be sure. But a necessary event nonetheless. Too many transitions in the lives of our editorial and advertising staff—makes us sound like a giant conglomerate doesn’t it?—to keep the paper running in a manner worthy of its quality. We do hope to return to print sometime in the very near future.
This month’s issue includes an interview with the Howland’s Florence Northcutt penned by yours truly, a first person account of his experiences with the Howland Cultural Center by Thom Joyce, the best Community Calendar we’ve had in months, School Board and City Council updates, recipes, and not one, but two editorials.
Thanks as always go to all who have ever written for this paper and to Wayne-William Creative for all they have done to make this the best damn paper around.
Wish it weren’t the last, but all things do come to end…
