And therefore no promised update…
I had every intention of delivering last week’s promised How We’re Living Now update, but a world of business got in the way of my better intentions. Writing deadlines, publication deadlines, and a nagging little problem of how to display some very specific information on my WordPress site. This is something that I’d wanted to do for quite some time and which I’d been attempting to do on my own with absolutely no success. Thanks to theDuck (a.k.a. Matthew James) my problem has been resolved.
If you haven’t had the opportunity yet, check out my Beacon Dispatch interview with Florence Northcutt. While the Howland is most definitely a local jewel, the Howland is also a National architectural jewel that was almost destroyed in a fit urban renewal insanity. The City of Beacon, like so many other cities at that time, lost a number of amazing estates and irreplaceable buildings. Fortunately the wiser heads prevailed when it came to the Howland.
I promise I’ll update How We’re Living… by the end of the weekend.
