Walls
So here we sit, waiting for the next round. The footings have been approved by the building department as have the footing drains. The little stream at the back of the foundation seems to be fairly well under control. No new water inside the footings and the excavator put drains inside the foundation so that any water that does come in will move back out again. We’ve also had a fair amount of rain, which has allowed us to test the draining theory out. As they say in the biz, it’s “Lovely!” (What biz is that you ask? Carpentry of course. Back in the day when I was still swinging a hammer in CA, my boss, Richard Neuenschwander, used to refer to everything good as “Lovely!” Everything bad? Well, there were other words for that. And a thrown hammer or two as well. Best carpentry teacher I ever had though.)
This, of course, is not exciting news. It’s just the status quo. What we wait for is walls. Concrete walls upon which to set our house.
They’re coming!
But not until next week.
