PersonalAncestryWriter II (PAWII) is a free genealogy program that has excellent support, superior documentation, and which can handle a virtually unlimited number of ancestors and an encyclopedic amount of text. While not so hot at handling multimedia files, PAWII has no problem with a wide variety of image formats. Plus, Howard Metcalfe, the program’s creator, is an absolute pleasure to talk to.
