Fellow iPhone wanna-own and IT compatriot Bill Jackson and I headed east to Danbury Connecticut rather than south to NYC in hopes of avoiding the longer lines of the hyped-up New York City crowd. We ended up arriving about 90 minutes later than expected due to an accident on the Interstate. But, as we’d hoped, the lines were nowhere near as long as what we’d heard about in NYC.

The line at the Apple store is just over 100 people long and, according to a security guard who was passing out water and playing cards to everyone in line, there’s a much shorter line—about 30-40 people—at the AT&T store downstairs. The difference? You can only get one iPhone at the AT&T store. You can get two at the Apple store.

Sounds like there might be a few phones on eBay in about 40 minutes.
