Beam me up Scotty!

Things are going slow but sure at the moment. On Thursday a crane will show up to lift two insanely large ridge beams into place. (Engineering overkill if you ask me.) These things are about sixteen inches tall and forty feet long. And in all liklihood, they’re putting more downward pressure on the rafters than any ten major blizzards could possibly hope to. Giant my friends. Absolutely giant. And a thousand bucks to put into place to boot.

Once the beam goes up on Thursday it’ll be a mad framing party, getting the final rafters into place and finally sheeting the whole blinking thing. We’ll be all covered up then and ready to roof.

Let the plumbing (and siding!) begin.
