Which is only a small untruth…
So here we are, five + weeks past when we actually should have been at the point we’re currently at right now. A good long time by any standard, but insanely late in the game, from my perspective, for this crazy web-based reality show you’re currently witnessing. Alas…
So, today the framers will finish the last of the most difficult portions of the framing job: the garage. Rake walls, crazy hips, whacked-out tie-ins to the main house. It all lives here. It’s a a deviant house framer’s dream. That said, the Brazilian boys from Rye are doing a cabinetmaker’s job on this. It looks brilliant; and for this fact alone we won’t question what this actually says about the boys from Brazil.
In some other insane news, framing partner #2 was supposed to have enough roof sheeting completed yesterday to allow the roofers to begin their work. If you expected the job to be completed as promised… BZZZZT, you chose the wrong answer. Framing partner #2 was the only man on the sheeting job for two days in a row. Suffice to say that there wasn’t enough sheeting completed for the roofing crew to start their work. I had to send them home and they graciously promised to check back tomorrow to see if they can actually begin their work.
Beautiful sunny days. No rain in sight. And still… this guy just cannot get the job done.
Framing partner #1 will be here tomorrow to slap this stuff down.
Meanwhile, can anybody say freeze frame?
