and ganja kings…
Yesterday morning I got a call from the guys working at the house stating that some tools were missing from the site. They were mostly powered hand tools, such as screw guns and the like, that had somehow "walked" off of the job. This was unfortunate, but, thankfully, not a terribly expensive problem.
After the call from the carpenter I placed a call to the Beacon Police who came up, took a list and then, after the day’s work was over, planted themselves at the house from 5:00-11:00 PM to see if the cliché about the criminal always returning to the scene of the crime was true.
The answer to that question is a gigantic "maybe." Somewhere around 9:00 pm I got a call from the Beacon Police stating that they had caught some kids at the house. They weren’t actually in it, they just pulled way up the driveway to roll themselves a "bone." The officers gave them a few minutes to see if they’d venture into the house. Which, had they waited until after the bone was rolled and smoked, may have happenedâ€â€you never know if you’re going to find a useful tool or an errant sandwich to stave off the munchies when you cruise around a construction site. But in the end, since no tools were found in their possession, it was just a misdemeanor weed bust. Pretty funny one at that.
I didn’t press any trespassing charges, but the boys, I’m quite certain, are still in need of Depends right about now. But I’m still pissed off that those tools are working for somebody else today…
