Should I begin weeping now or later?

Granted, this cat’s house is somewhat different than my own—although it is being built in a neighborhood of houses with a slightly Craftsman-like feel. (Oh, and he’s a writer (or plays one on the web) I’m a writer. He went to school in the Northeast (Cornell, which also proves that he’s way the heck smarter, or at least richer, than I am) and now lives in the Pacific Northwest. I live in the Northeast, grew up on the West Coast, but always WANTED to live in the Pacific Northwest when I was a kid. Strange symmetry here, but only in the Paul Auster (see/read Invention of Solitude) sense of perceived relationships being drawn from mere coincidences.) That being said, he’s on schedule, at the moment anyway. And, don’t rub it in, I’m not. (You may recall that it was around day 15 of the framing on my house that my house building world came crashing to the ground.)

So kudos to Allan Rousselle, whoever the heck you are. My hat’s off to you! I hope you continue on schedule ’til the end. And maybe you can have us over for dinner when you’re done…
