I neglected to link to the 43 Folders Podcast with Merlin Mann and John Gruber that I was talking about the other day. So, here it is.
While you’re at it, Northeast Public Radio has an excellent weekly program called the Media Project, which I’ve just discovered is also offered as a podcast. To quote the WAMC website “The Media Project is an inside look at media coverage of current events.” It’s hosted by two print media editors/publishers, the president/ceo of WAMC public Radio, a television news anchor. It’s always interesting and always fun.
This week’s segment is particularly interesting on two counts. First, there’s a surprising symmetry between what the Media Project has to say about the the importance of quality content and what the aforementioned 43 Folders podcast has to say about the same. Second, there’s a discussion about halfway through the Media Project podcast about how NPR’s national marketing campaigns are affecting local public radio stations, especially since NPR has started pushing their listenership to the NPR.org website for more detailed reporting on stories being run on their national shows.
I can’t recommend both these shows highly enough. And, as far as I’m concerned, WAMC Northeast Public Radio is the best Public Radio Station on the planet.
