Neil Finn, Tim Finn, Split Enz, Crowded House, there’s not much I don’t like about the Finn Brothers. And given the state of the “Comeback Album” craze of the last few years, you could be forgiven for thinking that the latest disc by Crowded House would be nothing but cheese. Of course, you’d be wrong.

Time On Earth, the first Crowded House studio recording in about eight years, delivers the typical Finn Brothers fare: slick, well-crafted pop tunes like Don’t Stop Now and the title track Time on Earth and more melancholy, introspective, world enders like Pour Le Monde and lost Island.

Overall, Time On Earth makes for a great new disc by a great old band.
